Health and social services regional roundtables

Roles and Responsibilities

Aligned with the mandate and vision of the CCS, the regional roundtables are responsible for mobilizing and identifying regional or urban health and social service needs, priorities and solutions in addition to liaising with the regional health authorities. The regional roundtables bring their recommendations and solutions to the CCS Board for approval and input. They are also responsible for contributing to the development of the provincial network, by coordinating efforts for the province-wide needs profile, by sharing success stories and resources and so on.

Composition of rural health and social services regional roundtables

The current rural regional roundtables determine the most appropriate mechanism for their member selection. However, each rural health and social services regional roundtable must ensure that its members can function fluently in French and that the region’s francophone communities are equitably represented. Each roundtable is composed of:

  • representative(s) of institutional leaders
  • representative(s) of training institutions, where applicable
  • representative(s) of health and social services professionals
  • representative(s) of health and social services workers
  • one (1) representative of Manitoba Family Services and Consumer Affairs
  • one (1) regional officer of the Réseau communautaire de la Société franco-manitobaine
  • one (1) bilingual representative from a Regional Health Authority
  • a maximum of twelve (12) members.

The current urban regional roundtable determines the most appropriate mechanism for its member selection. The urban health and social services regional roundtable must ensure its members can function fluently in French. The roundtable is composed of:

  • representative(s) of institutional leaders
  • representatives(s) of training institutions, where applicable
  • representative(s) of health and social services professionals
  • representative(s) of health and social services workers
